New Members Inducted into the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society

LAWRENCE - The University of Kansas School of Pharmacy’s Alpha Rho Chapter of the Rho Chi Society, the national academic honor society in pharmacy, inducted a new class of high‑achieving pharmacy students during a ceremony held March 5, 2026.

Rho Chi, founded in 1922 at the University of Michigan, recognizes and encourages excellence in pharmaceutical scholarship, promotes high ethical standards, and fosters fellowship among future intellectual leaders in pharmacy.

Dean David Dietz opened the ceremony with welcoming remarks, followed by chapter highlights presented by Vice President Daniel Zachary. President Aiden Gregory introduced and presented the chapter’s Teaching Excellence Award to Dr. Judy Wu, who also delivered the keynote address.

During the initiation ritual, Dean Janelle Ruisinger and Dean Brad Newell, alongside chapter officers, formally recognized the academic accomplishments and leadership qualities of the new inductees.

Following the recitation of Rho Chi’s mission and history, inductees pledged their commitment to upholding the Society’s values of scholarship, ethical practice, and leadership within the profession.

The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from current President Gregory, after which attendees gathered in the atrium for a class photo and refreshments.

Membership in Rho Chi is one of the highest academic honors in pharmacy education. The Society seeks to “advance pharmacy through sustained intellectual leadership” and recognizes students who exemplify outstanding academic achievement and character.

Congratulations to the Rho Chi inductees.
