Emerge from the Crowd: ACCP’s Emerge from the Crowd Workshop is a one-day session that is designed for first-, second- and third-year pharmacy students that plan to pursue postgraduate residency training. Residency applicants must learn how to become standout residency candidates in the current competitive environment. The workshop will engage students in interactive sessions on navigating the residency application process, writing an effective letter of intent, creating a distinguished curriculum vitae, and successfully interviewing.
- Clinical Pharmacy Challenge: This competition is geared towards students in their third and fourth years of their professional pharmacy degree program. Teams of three students compete against teams from other schools and colleges of pharmacy in a “quiz bowl”–type format. Preliminary rounds of the national competition are conducted virtually each September. The quarterfinal, semifinal, and final rounds are held live at the ACCP Annual Meeting each October. All rounds consist of questions offered in the three distinct segments: trivia/lightning, clinical case, and jeopardy-style.
- Clinical Research Challenge: This novel competition is targeted towards pharmacy students in their first two years of their first professional pharmacy degree program. Critically evaluating and applying primary literature is an essential skill for clinical pharmacists. Research and scholarship contributes to improved health outcomes for patients and advancements in the profession of clinical pharmacy. This innovative and unique competition offers teams of three pharmacy students to participate in an online journal club, and the opportunity to submit a letter of intent and a clinical research proposal.
