Campus Convention date changed to March 26

Current and future KU School of Pharmacy students are encouraged to attend the “Campus Convention,” 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., March 26, at the School of Pharmacy Building on West Campus. This Pharmacy Professionalism and Advocacy Conference is designed to emulate regional and national pharmacy conventions and to introduce students to the advantages of educational and professional networking. Campus Convention is sponsored by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Academy of Student Pharmacists. Online registration is available through March 17.

Students will hear about different pharmacy career paths available and will learn about the importance of getting involved and advocating for the profession of pharmacy. Current pharmacy students will:

  • See what a day in the life of a Pharmacy resident is like.
  • Learn about current pharmacy legislation at the state and federal levels.
  • Hear from leaders about why it is important for pharmacy students and pharmacists to have a voice in legislative matters.
  • Learn about the future job market and how to prepare after graduation.
  • Listen to pharmacists speak on specific pharmacy careers including health systems, independent pharmacy, managed care, retail/chain pharmacy, ambulatory care and research.
  • Attend an after-match panel.
  • Expand their professional network.
  • Learn about summer opportunities.


Pre-pharmacy students will:

  • Meet practicing pharmacists and learn about the various pharmacy career paths.
  • Meet pharmacy leaders and discuss issues and current events that affect the profession.
  • Learn about the KU School of Pharmacy application process and interview tips.
  • Learn about current pharmacy legislation at the state and federal levels.
  • Meet KU School of Pharmacy faculty and administrators.
  • Get to know other students and expand your professional network.
  • Talk to and ask questions of current pharmacy students about what pharmacy school is like.
