Student mentors are here to help in the following ways:

  • Answer your questions
  • Help connect you with other students
  • Provide tips for a successful first-year experience

Goals of the Peer Mentor Program

  • Provide P1 students access to professional students who model behaviors, attitudes, and characteristics representative for the profession
  • Share SOP and KU resources
  • Increase the mentor and mentees pride and sense of belonging to the SOP
  • Foster and develop a community of collegiality among the student body
  • Give highly qualified students the opportunity to develop leadership skills
  • Allow faculty to concentrate on more formal discussions during routine advising appointments
