Wichita Biomedical Campus Beam Signing Marks Major Milestone
The Wichita Biomedical Campus celebrated an important milestone with a ceremonial beam signing August 26, 2025, bringing together KU and WSU university leaders, faculty, students, community partners and elected officials. The event highlighted the strong collaboration and shared vision that are shaping the future of healthcare education and research in Wichita.
During the ceremony, attendees had the opportunity to add their signatures to one of the final structural beams of the facility, leaving a lasting mark on a project that will have a transformative impact on the region’s healthcare landscape. Elected officials joined academic and community leaders in recognizing the significance of the new campus as an investment in education, innovation and the health of Kansans.
At the conclusion of the program, following the remarks and beam signing, the final steel beam was raised and secured in place. This symbolic moment highlighted the progress of construction and the steady momentum toward completion of a state-of-the-art biomedical hub that will serve students, healthcare providers and patients across Kansas for generations to come. The facility is scheduled to open to students in Fall 2027.
