Practicing in the areas of community retail, hospital, ambulatory care, long-term care and currently in academia, I strive to provide quality patient care by working with a diverse healthcare team in a strategic effort to optimize the knowledge basis of other healthcare professionals while taking a clinical collaborative practice approach to ensure patients receive appropriate and optimal medications and treatments.

My teaching philosophy with students is simple and includes: passion, interest, critical thinking and real-life engagement. My enthusiasm to advance my skills and knowledge base helps improve the passion within the students. When teaching students that challenge myself, it helps me become a better instructor and in turn helps them advance in the practice of pharmacy. Critical thinking is a part of the pharmacy profession and being able to guide students through the process of challenging ideas provides unique perspectives. Real-life engagement is the ultimate learning experience with a preceptor while allowing students to gain valuable insights of how to handle situations.

Service is an avenue to develop relations within the school, university, organizations and the public. I have served on local and state level committees and boards and I believe that I fulfill this by being engaged in multiple organizations and involved with the profession.
